Google AI Pro limits: 4x free Gemini usage, a 1M token window and 1,000 Flow credits, with every other cap by plan

In brief

Google AI Pro gives 4x the free Gemini allowance, refilling every 5 hours to a weekly cap, with no printed prompt count. As of October 2026 it adds a 1M token window, 1,000 Flow credits a month and 5 TB. Per unit of chat Pro costs twice Plus. From 13 November 2026 it becomes the cheapest plan with Gemini Pro.

What are the Google AI Pro limits, plan by plan?

Google AI Pro's limits come from seven Google products, and Google prints a number for 10 of the 15 we found. The five with no number are the ones most people pay for: Gemini app chat, Deep Research, image generation and video generation (all on one meter), plus Antigravity. We compiled every cell from Google's own help pages and its US subscriptions page, read on 18 October 2026, for a personal account in the US:

We took the meter and the context windows from Google's Gemini limits page, and the file rows from its upload page. The rest came from the Flow credits page, the Gemini Notebook plans page and the Jules limits page. All of them are Google's. Google names only Pro and Ultra when it extends upload lengths, so Plus gets the free lengths above. The Notebook page splits Ultra into a 20 TB plan and a 30 TB plan, which is where 500 or 600 sources comes from. Google's limits page adds that every one of these "may change without notice, including due to capacity constraints."

How many prompts a day does Google AI Pro give you?

Google AI Pro has no daily prompt count. Google sells it as "4x higher than standard limits" on a compute meter, and it doesn't say how big the standard limit is. The rule on its limits page reads: "Your limit refreshes every 5 hours until you reach your weekly limit." So a Pro subscriber can spend the whole 5 hour window, wait for it to come back and spend it again, until the week runs out and there is nothing to do but wait for it to turn. Then it starts over. Google's email to subscribers in May 2026 put it as "a 4x higher usage limit than non-subscribers", per 9to5Google.

That makes Pro the dearest Gemini plan per unit of chat, tied with the $99.99 Ultra. We divided each US price by its multiple of the standard allowance. $19.99 over 4 and $99.99 over 20 both come to about $5.00 per allowance. $4.99 over 2 and $199.99 over 80 come to about $2.50. The catch is in the models that each plan lets you use. A Pro or Argon prompt spends more of the meter than a Flash one does, and from 13 November 2026 Plus can't pick the Pro model at all, so Plus's cheaper unit buys lighter work.

Google did print counts until May 2026. Its limits page in September 2025 gave AI Pro up to 100 Gemini 2.5 Pro prompts a day, 20 Deep Research reports a day and 3 Veo 3 Fast videos a day, as Gigazine recorded on 8 September 2025. On 17 May 2026 Google moved the personal Gemini app to compute based limits, per its model access page. Eleven days of complaints followed. On 28 May Google said it was "capping the amount of quota a single prompt can use" on Gemini 3.1 Pro, and that Flash-Lite prompts "won't count against your quota", 9to5Google reported. Failed requests stopped counting too.

What spends the meter fastest is on Google's own list: "the complexity of your prompt, the models and features you use, and the length of your chat". The model page names media generation, Deep Research, the Pro model, extended thinking and Deep Think as the heavy ones. Video "generally requires the most usage."

Which Gemini models does Google AI Pro unlock?

Google AI Pro unlocks every model in the Gemini app picker, including Gemini 4 Argon since 13 October 2026. Google's availability post that day says "Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers" can use it. When Google announced Argon on 30 September, it gave it to "select cybersecurity partners" only, Reuters reported. Pro subscribers now see 3.5 Flash-Lite, 3.8 Flash, 3.1 Pro and 4 Argon in the picker, per 9to5Google.

The cheaper plans see less. Much less. A free account runs on Auto, which Google says sends most prompts to Flash-Lite and harder ones to Flash or Pro. Turn smart model selection off and Flash-Lite answers everything. Google AI Plus keeps the Pro model only until 13 November 2026. Google's email to Plus subscribers, quoted by 9to5Google on 14 October, says that from that date "the ability to select Pro models in both the Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search will only be available to Google AI Pro subscribers and above." Plus keeps Flash and Flash-Lite. Google's subscriptions page already lists Plus with the Flash model only, and the new model table on its model access page leaves the Pro cell empty on the Plus row. Neither Plus nor free gets Argon.

Every model also has an effort setting of low, medium or high. Higher effort answers more thoroughly and spends more of the 5 hour window. On Pro, that's the second lever after the model picker. Set Flash to low when all you need is a reformat or a quick answer, and keep Argon on high for the problem you're paying for.

What are the Google AI Pro limits for Deep Research, images and Veo?

Inside the Gemini app, Deep Research, images and video have no separate count on Google AI Pro. All three spend the same 5 hour meter as chat, and Google's limits page shows a checkmark for each one. Image generation runs on Nano Banana 2, with redos on Nano Banana Pro. Video in the Gemini app now runs on Gemini Omni, which Google's video help page calls "our latest AI video generation model". You need a paid plan and you need to be 18. The history of the image caps is in Gemini image generation limit.

Flow is the one video product with a printed allowance. Google AI Pro adds 1,000 Flow credits a month, and every account gets 50 a day on top. Google's Flow credits page says: "With or without a subscription, you receive 50 Google Flow credits per day." At its listed prices, Pro's 1,000 monthly credits buy any one of these:

What you make in FlowCredits each on ProClips from 1,000 monthly credits
Veo 3.1 Lite clip, up to 8 seconds10100
Veo 3.1 Fast clip, up to 8 seconds2050
Veo 3.1 Quality clip, 8 seconds10010
Gemini Omni Flash, 8 seconds at 720p1283
Gemini Omni Flash edit of a video4025

The 50 daily credits matter more than they look. Use them first. They're worth 5 Lite clips a day on any account, paid or not, and they don't roll over. Neither do monthly credits: "Unused monthly Google Flow credits do not roll over to the next month." Monthly credits refresh at the start of your billing cycle. Ultra pays half as much for Lite and Fast clips, 5 and 10 credits, which is part of why its 10,000 credits go so far.

What are the Google AI Pro limits in NotebookLM?

Google AI Pro raises NotebookLM, now named Gemini Notebook, to 500 notebooks and 300 sources per notebook, against 100 and 50 on a free account. Those are the only two numbers that are left on Google's Notebook plans page as of 18 October 2026. It no longer prints daily counts for chats or Audio Overviews. For Gemini model access it says "Higher access" on Pro and "Highest access" on Ultra.

Two rules on that page decide how far the allowance goes. "If your plan is on daily quotas, these reset after 24 hours. Monthly quotas reset after 30 days." And the report, quiz or Audio Overview that Notebook sometimes builds when you first add sources doesn't count. Sharing a notebook doesn't raise anyone's source limit either. Pro also removes Notebook's watermark, except in India, South Korea and Vietnam, where a visible one stays.

What are the file upload and context limits on Google AI Pro?

Google AI Pro gives the Gemini app a 1 million token context window, against 32K tokens free and 128K on AI Plus. It also stretches uploads: up to 1 hour of video and 3 hours of audio per prompt, against 5 minutes and 10 minutes without an upgrade. The per file caps don't change with the plan. Google's upload page allows "Up to 10 files" per prompt, 2 GB per video and 100 MB for every other file type.

Code has a cap of its own. You can add one folder or one GitHub repository to a chat, and it can hold up to 5,000 files and 100 MB in all. A ZIP holds up to 10 files and 100 MB, with no video or audio inside. Deep Think uses a smaller window than the plan's 1 million: "If you use Deep Think, there is a 192 thousand token window." Long files also drain the 5 hour meter faster, since Google counts "large file analysis" as medium cost.

When do Google AI Pro limits reset, and where can you check them?

The Gemini app limit resets every 5 hours until the weekly cap is spent, and Google doesn't say which day your week starts. The other Pro allowances keep their own clocks. Flow's daily 50 credits return a day after your first generation, and its monthly credits at the start of your billing cycle. Notebook's daily quotas reset after 24 hours, and Jules counts tasks over a rolling 24 hours.

To see the Gemini meter, open gemini.google.com, choose Settings at the bottom left, then Usage Limits. That page is the only gauge Google gives a personal account. When it runs dry on a paid plan, Google's limits page says "you can continue your conversation with Flash-Lite", and since 28 May those prompts don't count. A free account has no fallback at all. It waits for the refill, and Google warns that Deep Research may be unavailable to it at high demand.

What can you do when Google AI Pro's limits are too low?

Google offers two ways up: AI Ultra at $99.99 a month for 5x AI Pro's usage, or AI credits bought on top of Pro. Google's subscriptions page says "You can extend your limits by purchasing AI credits", but it printed no price for them when we read it on 18 October 2026. On top of that, Ultra brings you 10,000 Flow credits, 300 Jules tasks a day and at least 20 TB of storage. Is Google AI Ultra worth it works through that $80 step. If storage is why you pay, is Google AI Pro worth it splits the plan's value from its chat limit.

A second app with a monthly meter is the other route, and Whizi, which publishes this page, is one. Whizi Pro is $29.99 a month for 2,500 credits. Gemini Pro costs 10 credits a message there and Gemini 3 Flash costs 1, so that's 250 Gemini Pro answers or 2,500 Flash ones, next to GPT and Claude on the same login (Gemini in Whizi). Where it loses: Whizi doesn't carry Gemini 4 Argon, Veo, Notebook or any storage, credits reset only when the UTC month turns over, and every plan stops at 60 messages an hour.

Workflow checklist
  • Open Settings, then Usage Limits, in the Gemini app before a long task to see how much of the 5 hour window is left
  • Set routine turns to Flash on low effort and save Argon or 3.1 Pro on high for the hard question
  • When the meter runs out on a paid plan, keep the same chat going on Flash-Lite, which doesn't count against your quota
  • Make video in Flow with the 50 daily credits first; they expire each day, and the 1,000 monthly credits don't roll over either
  • Upload long recordings on Pro, which allows 1 hour of video and 3 hours of audio per prompt
Common questions

Frequently asked questions

How many prompts per day do you get with Google AI Pro?

Google publishes no daily prompt count for Google AI Pro as of October 2026. It gives Pro 4x the free allowance on a compute meter that refills every 5 hours until a weekly cap. The last printed figure, from September 2025, was up to 100 Gemini 2.5 Pro prompts a day. If you hit the wall, Gemini usage limit reached has the fix for each Gemini meter.

What is the difference between Google AI Pro limits and free?

Google AI Pro gets 4x the free Gemini app usage, a 1M token window instead of 32K, Gemini 4 Argon and 3.1 Pro, 1,000 extra Flow credits a month and 5 TB instead of 15 GB. It also raises Gemini Notebook from 100 to 500 notebooks. Before you go back to free, how to downgrade Google AI Pro shows what happens to the storage.

How many Veo 3 videos can you make with Google AI Pro?

Google AI Pro buys 50 Veo 3.1 Fast clips, 100 Lite clips or 10 Quality clips a month with its 1,000 Flow credits, at Google's listed prices of 20, 10 and 100 credits. Every account also gets 50 Flow credits a day. In the Gemini app itself, video has no count and spends the shared 5 hour meter. The AI subscription savings calculator adds that bill to the rest of your AI plans.

Why does my Google AI Pro limit run out so fast?

Because the meter counts compute, not prompts, so one video, Deep Research report or long Argon chat can spend what dozens of short Flash questions would. Google lists prompt complexity, the model, the features and chat length as the factors. Check Settings, then Usage Limits, to see what's left. If the app errors instead of showing a limit, is Gemini down shows whether Google is having an outage.
