Gemini pricing: AI Plus is $4.99, AI Pro $19.99, and AI Ultra $99.99 or $199.99 a month

In brief

Gemini costs $0 on the free plan, $4.99 a month for Google AI Plus, $19.99 for Google AI Pro (formerly Gemini Advanced) and $99.99 or $199.99 for Google AI Ultra, in the US as of October 2026. Per dollar, Plus and Ultra 20x buy the most Gemini usage, twice the rate of Pro.

How much does Gemini cost on each plan?

Google AI Pro costs $19.99 a month, the same price Google charged for Gemini Advanced in February 2024. We read each row from Google's US subscriptions page, its Gemini limits page and its Google AI plans page on 31 October 2026. US prices, before tax:

Google AI Ultra 20x$199.9920x Pro (80x Free)Argon, Pro and Flash, highest access1 million tokens30 TB25,000

Google doesn't print a message count for any of the plans. Each limit is a multiple of the free one, and the limits page gives one rule for all of them: "Your limit refreshes every 5 hours until you reach your weekly limit." So what you pay for is a bigger meter and better models. The storage comes along with it because these are all Google One plans. Ultra adds YouTube Premium and Project Genie, though one footnote on Google's plans page limits Genie to Ultra 20x.

The iPhone app costs the same. Apple's US App Store listing for Gemini showed AI Plus at $4.99, AI Pro at $19.99 and Ultra at $199.99 on 31 October 2026. So you don't save anything by buying on the web, and you don't pay extra in the app. Not every AI company prices it that way, as Claude pricing shows.

Which Gemini plan gives the most usage per dollar?

Google AI Plus and Ultra 20x tie for the most usage per dollar, at $2.50 for each free-sized Gemini limit. Pro and Ultra 5x tie at $5.00, twice the price. We divided each US price by the multiple Google publishes for it:

The $4.99 plan and the $199.99 plan buy Gemini usage at the same rate, twice Pro's
Google AI Ultra 20x$199.99 for 80x the free limit$2.50 per limitGoogle AI Plus$4.99 for 2x the free limit$2.50 per limitGoogle AI Pro$19.99 for 4x the free limit$5.00 per limitGoogle AI Ultra 5x$99.99 for 20x the free limit$5.00 per limiteach square is a quarter of the free Gemini limit, bought per$20 a month, from Google's published multiples on 31 Oct 2026

The math is plain division. Plus buys 2x the free limit for $4.99. Ultra 20x buys 80x for $199.99, because it's 20x Pro and Pro is 4x Free. Pro buys 4x for $19.99, and Ultra 5x buys 20x for $99.99.

Two things change what a unit is worth. Plus reads 128K tokens at a time against 1 million on Pro, and its plan card lists only the Flash model. Google also says the limits are compute based, so Deep Research or a long chat drains any meter faster. If you need the Pro model or long files, Plus's cheap usage isn't the usage you need. Google AI Plus vs Google AI Pro weighs the $15 gap, and Google AI Pro limits lists every cap Google does number.

Is Google AI Pro the same as Gemini Advanced?

Yes. Google AI Pro is the plan that used to sell Gemini Advanced, renamed on 20 May 2025, and its US price has stayed at $19.99 a month. Google launched Gemini Advanced on 8 February 2024 inside the Google One AI Premium plan, at "$19.99/month" with a two-month trial, per its launch post.

The rename came with Ultra. Google's 20 May 2025 post said: "Our existing AI Premium plan, now called Google AI Pro, is also getting better." Since then there's no separate Gemini Advanced subscription. If a guide quotes a Gemini Advanced price, it's quoting Google AI Pro. What the plan includes today, from Gemini 4 Argon to 5 TB of storage, is in what is Google AI Pro.

Does Google AI Plus still include Gemini Pro?

Google AI Plus includes Gemini Pro only until 13 November 2026, according to an email Google sent Plus subscribers, as printed by 9to5Google on 14 October. The email reads: "Starting on 13 November 2026, the ability to select Pro models in both the Gemini app and AI Mode in Google Search will only be available to Google AI Pro subscribers and above."

Google's own pages don't publish that date. On 31 October 2026 its US plan card for AI Plus listed only "Access to our Flash model", while its About Gemini models help page still listed Flash-Lite, Flash and Pro for Plus. So treat your own email as the date that applies to you. Per the same email, Plus keeps "our latest Flash-Lite model and Flash".

Plus also got cheaper this year. Google launched it in the US on 27 January 2026 at $7.99 with 200 GB and Gemini 3 Pro. In June it dropped to $4.99 and doubled to 400 GB, 9to5Google reported, with the lower price applied at each renewal. The $9.99 2 TB plan now carries the AI Plus name too. Google AI Plus price by country has the local prices.

How much does Google AI Ultra cost now?

Google AI Ultra costs $99.99 a month for 5x Pro's Gemini usage or $199.99 for 20x, in the US as of October 2026. Google launched Ultra at $249.99 on 20 May 2025. A year later its 19 May 2026 post added the $100 tier and said: "We're also reducing the monthly price of our top-tier AI Ultra plan from $250 to $200." Pages still quoting $249.99 are pricing a plan Google no longer sells.

Ultra 5x is five Pro allowances for five Pro prices. Ultra 20x is the one that gives you a discount. On top of the usage, both of them come with 20 or 30 TB of storage and a YouTube Premium plan for one person, and they raise your rate limits in Antigravity. Google AI Pro vs Google AI Ultra compares the two row by row, and is Google AI Ultra worth it covers who should pay $199.99.

How much is Gemini in the UK and India?

Gemini costs £18.99 a month for AI Pro in the UK and ₹1,950 in India. Google sets each local price itself rather than converting from dollars. We read Google's UK and India subscription pages on 31 October 2026:

Plan, monthly list price, read 31 October 2026United StatesUnited KingdomIndia
Google AI Plus$4.99£4.49₹399
Google AI Pro$19.99£18.99₹1,950
Google AI Ultra 5x$99.99£79.99₹6,500
Google AI Ultra 20x$199.99£189.99₹19,500

India's Ultra 5x costs 3.3x its Pro price, against 5x in the US, so the middle tier is far better value there. Annual billing exists too. Google's plans page labels the yearly toggle "Save up to 16%", though it served us Canadian prices, so we can't print the US yearly total here. Google AI Pro price by country converts Pro's price in many more markets.

Is there a Gemini free trial or student discount?

Students get Google AI Plus free for one year, and Google says they can move up to AI Pro "for a savings of up to 70%". The Google AI plans page adds that student offers last up to four years and need SheerID verification. They don't work on school-issued accounts, and they may renew at the standard price. Gemini student discount walks through it.

Google also runs free trials of AI Pro for some new subscribers. The UK page's terms read "£ 18.99/month at trial end", but no plan page we read prints a trial length. Check the offer at checkout, or see Google AI Pro free trial.

What does Gemini cost for a business?

Gemini Enterprise starts at $21 a seat a month for the Business edition and $30 a seat for the Standard and Plus editions, as listed on Google's US subscriptions page on 31 October 2026. The Business edition is the one for a small team. You don't need an IT person to set it up, and it stops at 300 seats. Standard and Plus are for a company that wants its IT team in control. Google Workspace business plans include Gemini too. Business Starter puts it in Gmail and a Gemini chat, and Business Standard adds it to Docs, Sheets, Slides, Drive and Meet, per Google's Workspace pricing page on 31 October 2026. That page served us Canadian prices, so we don't print a US figure. None of the personal plans above is sold by the seat. But if you're on AI Plus or AI Pro, you can share it with up to five other people in your Google family group.

What does the Gemini API cost?

The Gemini API is billed per million tokens, from $0.25 in for Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite to $2.00 in for Gemini 4 Argon today, with a free tier on most models. Google has scheduled two price rises. Its API price list, last updated 30 October 2026, shows them:

Model, as Google lists itInput per million tokens nowOutput per million tokens nowScheduled change
Gemini 4 Argon$2.00$10.00$4.00 in and $20.00 out from 1 December 2026
Gemini 3.8 Flash$0.75$3.75$1.50 in and $7.50 out from 1 January 2027
Gemini 3.6 Flash$0.75$3.75$1.50 in and $7.50 out from 1 January 2027
Gemini 3.1 Pro Preview, prompts up to 200K tokens$2.00$12.00None listed
Gemini 3.5 Flash-Lite$0.30$2.50None listed
Gemini 3.1 Flash-Lite$0.25$1.50None listed

Both rises double the price. Google's page states "Gemini 4 Argon is not available on the Free tier," and batch requests cost 50% less on every model in the table. The API is billed apart from AI Pro or Ultra, so a $19.99 plan doesn't pay for tokens. The OpenAI and Anthropic side of the same math is in ChatGPT API vs Claude API pricing.

How can you pay less for Gemini?

Stay on Free, pick Plus if Flash is enough, or claim the student year. Free costs nothing and has Deep Research, though Google says it may be unavailable at busy times. Plus is the cheapest usage Google sells. And if you live in India, the local Pro price is ₹1,950. Skip Ultra 5x in the US unless you want its storage, because it buys usage at exactly Pro's rate.

The other route is one app that puts Gemini next to ChatGPT and Claude. Whizi, which publishes this page, has Gemini Pro on its Pro plan at 10 credits a message, paid from the 2,500 credits you get each month. You'd also get Claude Opus, Claude Sonnet and GPT on the same login. It costs $29.99 a month, or $19.99 a month if you pay for the year, and the first week is $1.99. It loses to Google AI Pro on all of the things Google bundles in. There's no storage, there are no Flow credits, and you won't get Gemini in Gmail or Gemini 4 Argon. Whizi Starter has no Gemini model at all. If Gemini is the only AI you want, buy Google AI Pro. The Gemini in Whizi docs list each model's credit cost.

Workflow checklist
  • Start on Free and upgrade only after you hit the 5-hour limit in normal use
  • Pick Google AI Plus at $4.99 only if Flash covers your work, since Google has emailed Plus subscribers that Pro leaves on 13 November
  • Skip Ultra 5x in the US unless you need its storage or perks, because it buys usage at Pro's rate
  • Students: claim the free year of AI Plus before paying for anything
  • Build on the Gemini 4 Argon API before 1 December 2026 knowing the rate doubles that day
