SuperGrok free trial: there isn't one, but Premium's first month is $15

In brief

No. As of November 2026 xAI offers no SuperGrok free trial on grok.com, in the App Store or on X, and X says it is not offering free trials of Premium. The cheapest real test is xAI's Premium tier, which carries SuperGrok's benefits, at $15 for the first month before it renews at $30.

Is there a SuperGrok free trial?

There's no SuperGrok free trial a new account can start in November 2026. We checked nine routes to free or cheap SuperGrok on 2 November 2026, and none of them is one. Four of xAI's and X's own sales pages show no trial. Two older offers appear on no xAI page now. Two need someone who already pays, and the last is the free plan.

The grok.com checkout doesn't use the SuperGrok name any more. Since xAI launched The X Subscription on 12 October 2026, it sells Plus at $8, Premium at $30, Super at $100 and Ultra at $200. Premium is SuperGrok's match. xAI's announcement calls it "The benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro, and X Premium+, previously $90/month combined." The checkout lists Premium at $15, with "50% off for 1 month, then $30 monthly." That's a discount. xAI's terms call subscriptions prepaid, so the $15 leaves your card at checkout.

xAI's own terms leave the door open. Its Bundled Subscription Terms, last updated 7 October 2026, say "X Subscription Corp may offer promotional pricing or free trial periods for Paid Services." No sales page offers one today. X is more blunt about it. Its Premium help page asks "Can I get a free trial of Premium?" and answers "Sorry, we aren't offering free trials of Premium at this time." That covers Premium+, the X plan that includes SuperGrok access.

Which routes to free SuperGrok are real in November 2026?

Only the free plan costs nothing, and it isn't SuperGrok. We read each row from xAI's, X's or Apple's own page on 2 November 2026. The two 2025 offers come from dated reports, because no xAI page carries them now.

A gift is the one free route, and someone else pays for it. X's help page says a Premium subscriber can "gift X Premium or Premium+ to anyone who isn't yet subscribed". Premium+ is the plan X lists with "SuperGrok access, Grok Bot, no ads anywhere". At $40 a month on the web, it costs the giver $10 more than xAI's own Premium.

Switching offers belong to people who already pay. xAI's announcement says "Switching comes with limited-time offers, which you can see in your account billing settings." A new account has nothing to switch from, so it never sees them.

Where did the 3 day and 7 day SuperGrok trials go?

No xAI page we found ever documented a SuperGrok trial length. The lengths that guides quote all trace back to the iPhone app and to 2025. On 18 February 2025, the week xAI launched Grok 3, an X user posted that "SuperGrok appears to have a Free 3 day trial", found in the latest Grok iOS app. A Reddit thread called "3 Day Free Trial" still ranked second on Google when we searched on 2 November 2026.

The 7 day figure is muddier. tech.co's Grok pricing guide, updated 14 July 2026, says "Currently, you can get the SuperGrok's plan free for your first seven days." Its own pricing table says "Try for free for first 3 days". We couldn't confirm either. xAI's pricing page, archived on 10 October 2026, lists no trial, and the live page doesn't either.

The student offer was a post, not a program. On 10 April 2025 dev.ua reported two free months of SuperGrok for students who signed up with a .edu email, after Elon Musk posted "SuperGrok is free for students." The Grok FAQ we read on 2 November 2026 doesn't mention students at all. Grok student discount traces the original posts and what a school year costs now.

So the "SuperGrok free trial gone" searches have a plain answer. SuperGrok itself is gone for new buyers. xAI's pricing docs say "Existing Cursor, SuperGrok, and X Premium plans continue unless you change or cancel them." Everyone else starts on The X Subscription.

What does free Grok give you instead of a trial?

Free Grok is the standing way to try Grok, with no card and no end date. xAI's pricing page lists it at $0 with "Limited Chat requests" and "Limited agent requests". Its comparison table marks image generation and Grok Build as limited too. Grok Bot starts on Premium, and so does the line "Make stunning AI images & videos". xAI publishes no free message count.

A week on free Grok is a fair test of the chat and the voice. It tells you nothing about Grok Bot or the bigger weekly pool. xAI's FAQ on that page says "Your allowance refreshes weekly, so one heavy day never wipes out your whole month." SuperGrok limits has every number xAI prints about the pool, and what is SuperGrok covers what the old plan added.

What is the cheapest way to try SuperGrok without a free trial?

Premium's first month at $15 is the cheapest test of what SuperGrok gave you, and you can cancel the same day. xAI's terms say "Upon cancellation, your Paid Service will remain active through the end of the current period." Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal, as the same terms and the checkout both say, or month two bills at $30.

RouteUp-front cost, as of 2 November 2026What it buysWhat it leaves out

In most countries you should treat the $15 as spent. xAI's terms call payments "final and non-refundable except as required by applicable law". Buyers in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland can withdraw within 14 days, and xAI repays the unused share. Brazil, Mexico and South Korea get 7 days and Taiwan gets 5, though xAI may keep a share for the days you used. If you bought it in the App Store, you ask Apple. How to get a refund for SuperGrok has each form, and how to cancel SuperGrok has the clicks.

Whizi, which publishes this page, sells the last row. Its Pro intro week runs Grok 4.6 and Grok 4.7 at 6 credits a message, beside Claude, GPT and Gemini (Grok in Whizi). It isn't SuperGrok, though. There's no Imagine video, no Grok Bot and no live X feed. If Grok Bot or video is why you want SuperGrok, the $15 Premium month is the right test.

Workflow checklist
  • Start on free Grok at grok.com: it needs no card and has no end date
  • Want Grok Bot or video? Buy Premium at $15 for the first month, and cancel at once if one month is all you want
  • Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal, or the second month bills at $30
  • Ask a friend on X Premium whether they'll gift you Premium+, which includes SuperGrok access
  • Ignore any SuperGrok trial code or 7 day trial link that isn't on an xAI or X page
Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is there a SuperGrok free trial code?

No. xAI publishes no trial codes, and its checkout shows only 50% off the first month on Premium, Super and Ultra as of 2 November 2026. A code sold on a coupon site isn't xAI's. Real offers sit on the grok.com checkout or, for people who already pay, in billing settings.

How long is the SuperGrok free trial?

There's no standard length, because no trial is on sale. The 3 day figure comes from the Grok iPhone app in February 2025, and the 7 day one from guides such as tech.co's, which printed both. The nearest thing in November 2026 is one month of Premium at half price, $15.

Will I be charged after Premium's $15 first month?

Yes. The checkout says "50% off for 1 month, then $30 monthly," and "New subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel." Cancel at least 24 hours before renewal and you keep Premium until the month ends. xAI's terms name a cancel-for-money-back window only for buyers in the EEA, the UK, Switzerland, Brazil, Mexico, South Korea and Taiwan, beyond what local law requires. Elsewhere, count the $15 as spent.

Can students get SuperGrok free?

Not through any xAI page as of November 2026. In April 2025 Elon Musk posted "SuperGrok is free for students" and dev.ua reported two free months for .edu emails, but the Grok FAQ and pricing page mention no student offer now. Students pay $15 for Premium's first month like anyone else, or use free Grok.
