Which free ChatGPT Go offers are still open?

Revolut's plan bundle is the only free ChatGPT Go offer still open on 25 October 2026. We read every row below that day from OpenAI's release notes, Revolut's newsroom and help centre, and Telkomsel's offer page. Everything else either closed or was never a Go offer.

Two things on that list surprise most people. OpenAI's release notes log no country promotion besides India. And the same notes, which logged the India offer in detail, don't mention Revolut or Telkomsel once. The partner's own page is the only record of a partner deal, so that's where you check one.

Is the ChatGPT Go free offer in India still available?

No, the free ChatGPT Go year in India is closed to new claims. OpenAI's release note for the offer, dated 3 November 2025, now ends with one line: "Update: as of January 21, 2026, the promo has ended." So a new account in India pays from the first month. Go cost 399 rupees a month, GST included, when OpenAI launched it there on 18 August 2025.

While it ran, the rules were simple. OpenAI opened it to users in India who were new, on the Free plan or already paying for Go, with "one redemption per account". It needed a card or UPI, and it needed no promo code. Web and Google Play came first, and the App Store followed a week later.

The paper trail has thinned since. OpenAI's "ChatGPT Go Promotion (India)" help article now redirects to its general What is ChatGPT Go? page. We followed it on 25 October 2026, and that page names no free offer at all. That's also why "chatgpt go free india not showing" is a common search: there's nothing left to show.

How do you claim ChatGPT Go free through Revolut?

You claim it from the Revolut app, not from ChatGPT. Revolut announced the bundle on 30 July 2026, and its help page gives these steps, read on 25 October 2026:

1. Have a ChatGPT account ready. Create one at chatgpt.com, or sign in to the one you want the plan on.
2. Open the Revolut app. Tap your profile icon in the top left, then Your plan.
3. Find the benefit. Scroll to your plan's benefits, tap See all, then choose ChatGPT.
4. Go to ChatGPT. Tap Go to ChatGPT, which opens OpenAI's reward landing page.
5. Claim it. Select Claim free offer while signed in to the right ChatGPT account.

Four conditions catch people. If you pay for ChatGPT through the App Store or Google Play, you have to cancel that first. A plan you pay OpenAI for directly works differently: Go starts at once if it's a higher tier, and at the end of your billing cycle if it's the same tier or lower. Revolut issues "a single promo code per plan," so leaving and rejoining a plan won't get you a second one. And if you end your Revolut plan, ChatGPT drops back to the Free tier.

Plus and Standard customers can't claim it from the menu. Revolut said on 30 July 2026 that their 3-month offer "will be sent to all eligible Revolut Plus and Standard users in the coming weeks," and its help page lists only Premium, Metal and Ultra. Revolut publishes no end date for any tier.

India is the gap. Revolut runs an Indian app with UPI, but its India site returned a 404 for both the ChatGPT announcement and the ChatGPT help page on 25 October 2026. Don't open an account in India expecting the bundle.

Can students or Jio users get ChatGPT Go for free?

No, OpenAI has no free ChatGPT Go offer for students or for Jio users as of October 2026. US students can claim something better until 31 October 2026. OpenAI's Back to School offer gives current US college and graduate students four free monthly billing periods of ChatGPT Plus, and Plus includes everything in Go. SheerID checks enrollment, and you have to claim it by 31 October 2026. After that, Plus renews at $20 a month unless you cancel.

Indian students get no student offer from OpenAI. The only other student programme in OpenAI's release notes is Codex for Students, which gives verified university students in the US and Canada $100 in ChatGPT credits for Codex. It isn't a Go subscription.

Jio users get no ChatGPT Go from their SIM. OpenAI's full release notes, read on 25 October 2026, don't name Jio, Airtel or any other Indian carrier, and OpenAI set no carrier condition on the India year while it ran. What happens to billing after a free ChatGPT Go period?

Most free ChatGPT Go periods turn into a paid monthly plan unless you cancel first. OpenAI's Go promotions and referrals FAQ says some campaigns "automatically renew at the standard monthly rate when the promotion expires, while others do not automatically renew." It tells you to cancel "before your first billing date" if you don't want to keep paying.

The partner terms say the same. Revolut warns that Premium customers "will be automatically converted to a paid ChatGPT plan" when the benefit ends. Telkomsel's page said OpenAI would charge the regular Go fee to the payment method you registered. The OpenAI India offer did the same, which is why it asked for a card or UPI.

Cancelling early has a cost. OpenAI's FAQ says "If it was a free promotion, your access may end immediately upon cancellation." It also says you can't reuse the code, resubscribing won't bring back the promotion, and the free months "must be used in consecutive months." Which free ChatGPT Go routes are scams or account risks?

Any route that isn't chatgpt.com, the ChatGPT app or a partner's own app is a risk. Four come up again and again:

1. A VPN set to India. The India offer closed for everyone on 21 January 2026, so an Indian IP address now gets the normal checkout. OpenAI also keeps the right to revoke promotions and accounts "without refund in cases of suspected misuse or fraud".
2. Sellers of Go codes or shared accounts. OpenAI's terms say promo codes "may not be duplicated, sold or transferred" and allow "one code per subscriber". A bought code can be cancelled with your account.
3. Links that don't come from the partner. A real partner code reaches you through the partner, by SMS or in its app. OpenAI "does not reissue promo codes," so a stranger offering a replacement code isn't OpenAI.
4. Old Telkomsel vouchers. Telkomsel's promotion ended on 31 May 2026, so a voucher sold after that date isn't a Telkomsel offer.

Before you enter a card anywhere, check two things. The checkout page should be on chatgpt.com, and it should show the discount itself. If the price there is the full Go price, the offer isn't yours, whatever the link said.

Is ChatGPT Free close enough to Go to skip the hunt?

For text, yes. OpenAI says "Free and Go users both have unlimited everyday text chats," and since 8 October 2026 both run GPT-6 Luna. Go's extra value is in the tools. It doubles the Instant context window from 27K to 54K tokens, per the pricing page read on 25 October 2026. It also raises the image, upload and voice limits, and it may show ads, the only paid plan that does.

So the rule is short. If you never hit an image or upload wall on Free, a free Go offer buys you little. If you do, Go costs $8 a month in the US, and ChatGPT Go limits shows which walls move.
