Google AI Pro receipt: find it in Google Play, not Gemini, and see who gets a VAT invoice

Google AI Pro receipts sit in your Google payments account, because the plan is Google One

Gemini doesn't have a billing page. Google's Gemini help says it in one line: "You can subscribe to a Google AI plan through Google One." On gemini.google.com, Settings & help has a Manage subscription link, and it just opens Google One settings. So the receipt lives wherever Google One was paid for. That depends on where you first bought it.

On a computer, go to payments.google.com and click Activity. Click the Google One charge to open its details. On a phone, open the same site, tap Menu at the top left, then Activity. Google's VAT article says anyone "can get your transaction history and find a receipt at payments.google.com." The Play Store app shows the same orders under your profile icon, Payments & subscriptions, Budget & history.

Look for Google One, not Gemini. Google's own card change steps for a Google One plan say "In Google Play, on the left, click My subscriptions," then Manage next to Google One. So even a plan bought on the web sits in the same Google payments account as a Play purchase. Google Play also says it will "send a confirmation email with your order information" to the account that paid. Search that inbox, which isn't always the account you use Gemini on.

We haven't seen a live Google AI Pro receipt. Our account had no AI plan when we opened these screens on 1 September 2026. The Activity, Payment methods and Subscriptions & services tabs are what we saw, and the receipt steps are Google's own.

Can you get a VAT invoice for Google AI Pro?

Yes, if you live in the European Economic Area or Morocco, and probably in the UK or Switzerland too. Google's two help pages draw that line in different places. Everyone else gets a receipt, not a VAT invoice.

The Google Payments article says: "Invoices are only available for those living in the European Economic Area or Morocco." The Google Play tax article says you can request one if "you live in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, or Morocco." The EEA is 30 countries: the 27 EU states plus Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. That's 31 on one page and 33 on the other. If you're in the UK or Switzerland, follow the Play article and check the bottom of the charge for the download link.

The order of steps matters. Sign in to payments.google.com, open Settings, and enter your tax ID before anything else. Google warns that "In some countries, you can't get a VAT invoice or receipt if you didn't enter your tax ID number before you made the purchase." Then click Activity, click the charge, and choose Download VAT invoice or Download VAT receipt at the bottom. You may be asked for your full address. Click Save and a download link appears.

Ask after the month closes. Google Play says you can request each month's invoice "in the first few days of the following month," and that processing can take up to 24 hours. The address on the invoice is your legal address on the day you paid, and Google says you can't change it later.

US and Canadian receipts work differently. Google Play's tax page lists 46 US states where Google is registered to collect sales tax, four of them only in select cities, plus Quebec and Saskatchewan. Where Google is the seller of record, the sale may carry sales tax based on your legal address. There's no VAT invoice to request.

Why can't you find your Google AI Pro receipt?

The usual cause is the wrong account or the wrong store. Check these in order.

You paid on an iPhone. Apple bills a plan started in the iOS app, and Google's Gemini help says Manage subscription on iPhone "opens your subscriptions in Apple settings." Go to reportaproblem.apple.com, or open the App Store, tap your photo, then Apps & Purchase History, then Purchase History. Apple says that if you know the amount, you can search for it. Google AI Pro was $19.99 a month in the US and CA$26.99 in Canada as of October 2026.

A carrier pays for it. Google says Google One can be "billed separately by that provider" when a phone carrier sells it. The receipt is on the carrier's bill, and Google's payments page won't show it.

You're on a family plan. Google One's help notes that the plan manager can be a different person than the family manager. In that case, "the Google One plan manager can't find purchases made with the family payment method." Ask whoever owns the family payment method.

The renewal failed. If a card declines, Google One adds a seven-day grace period while you update payment. No receipt means no charge yet. Removing a card from Gemini covers the three Google pages where a card can be removed.

Can Google change a receipt after you've paid?

No. Google says the address on a VAT invoice is your legal address when you paid, and "You can't change the address that appears on a VAT invoice or receipt after the purchase is made." Set your tax ID and address before the next renewal, not after.

If you're paying for two of these mainly to reach Gemini Pro and Claude, Whizi Pro puts both models on one plan. Whizi's Settings has no invoice download, though, and its web payments run through Stripe, so it won't make an expense report easier.

Work and school accounts get a Workspace invoice instead

Google AI Pro is for personal accounts. Google's Gemini help says its plan article is "for users managing Gemini Apps for a personal Google Account." Gemini on a work or school account comes with the organization's Google Workspace subscription.

Google emails a PDF invoice at the start of each month for the month before, and an admin can get a copy any time in the Google Admin console under Billing. If your company bought Workspace through a reseller, billing runs through the reseller instead. Ask your admin. Your own payments.google.com won't show it.
