Claude Pro discount code: no public code exists, and paying yearly saves $40

In brief

No. Anthropic does not publish a Claude Pro discount code, and its help center says support "cannot issue one-off discounts or coupons." As of October 2026 the discount anyone can take is annual billing: $200 for a year instead of $240. Deal forums logged two past offers of 50% off for three months, each a link for new accounts.

Is there a Claude Pro discount code?

No. We traced every Claude price promotion we could find from June 2025 to 12 October 2026, and none was a public code you type at checkout. Each one came as a link, an email to a chosen group, an offer on Claude's upgrade screen, or a plan sold to an organization. Anthropic's help center adds a second line: "We do not offer standard discounted pricing for any of our paid plans, including Pro plans." Orange points were still open on 12 October 2026.

Only two of the six cut the price of Pro itself, and both rest on deal forum posts, not on an Anthropic page. Each was 50% off for three months, so $10 a month, for new accounts. The deal forum Slickdeals logged the first on 4 September 2025. It ran through a podcast sponsor link, claude.ai/acquired, and commenters who'd paid before got an invalid promotion error. The Wayback Machine holds copies of that claude.ai address from June 2025 to February 2026, so the link was Anthropic's own, but its terms survive only in the forum post. The second, posted on 2 March 2026, was marked "valid for New or Select Accounts only." Both threads are now marked expired. Neither needed a code.

The help center explains the pattern. Anthropic says it occasionally runs "limited-time promotions" and announces them "through our official channels," but has no "standing discounts available upon request." So a code on a coupon site is either an expired link, a personal offer or an invention.

What is the cheapest way to pay for Claude Pro without a code?

Annual billing on claude.com is the cheapest route open to anyone. It costs $200 for 12 months, $40 less than 12 monthly payments of $20, per Anthropic's pricing page on 12 October 2026. That's a 16.7% discount with no code, no deadline and no eligibility check. Every route we found is in this table, in US dollars.

The App Store costs more and gets less. Apple's US listing sells yearly Pro at $214.99, which is $14.99 above claude.com. Anthropic's promotions help page adds that App Store subscribers "are unable to take advantage of promotions at this time." To move to a web plan, you cancel in the store and resubscribe on claude.com when the term ends. Buy on the web.

Max has no yearly price to save on. The pricing FAQ says annual subscriptions "are available for Pro and Team plans," and both Max tiers bill monthly. If you already pay monthly for Pro, switching to yearly in Settings > Billing credits your unused time to the first annual invoice.

Team isn't a back door for one person. A Standard seat costs $20 a month billed yearly, or $25 monthly, and a team needs at least 2 seats. Nonprofits are the exception: Claude for Nonprofits, launched on 2 December 2025, offers "a discount of up to 75% on Team and Enterprise plans." Startups had a route too: the Claude for Startups FAQ names a free year of Team and $1,000 in API credits, but on 12 October 2026 the page said Anthropic is "currently over capacity" on both. Scientists get the steepest cut. The Team plan for scientists gives a lab's Standard seats at $0 for 12 months, and only the principal investigator can apply.

Do Claude promo codes from coupon sites work?

No. On 12 October 2026 we read seven coupon and deal pages for Claude. Five printed no code at all: GrabOn, DesiDime, VitePromo, WPism and NachoNacho. Their buttons led to plan prices, partner links or cloud credits, and NachoNacho said outright that "there are currently no valid Claude promo codes." Two pages printed code strings. We checked each TechieCoupons code against what Anthropic's own pages say.

GreenPromoCode listed ten more strings, among them BOGO, OM20 and NG30, with no discount stated for any of them. Its how-to says to paste the code "in the box next to the product." Anthropic's own promotion pages never ask for a typed code. They say an offer "will appear on the upgrade and purchase screens" or arrives as a unique link by email. VitePromo also warns that a code circulating as CLAUDE2026 doesn't exist on Anthropic's side.

Bought codes are worse. Anthropic's offer terms, effective 12 May 2026, say an offer "has no cash value, is non-transferable" and allow "one redemption per person and per account." Anthropic can revoke an offer for "fraud, abuse, or breach of the Terms." Don't pay for one.

How do real Claude promotions reach you?

A real Claude promotion shows up on Claude's own screens or in an email from Anthropic, for an account that's never paid. Anthropic's archived promotions page from 29 October 2025 shows both channels side by side.

The work email offer gave new accounts a free first month of Pro for one day, ending at 7:59 a.m. PT on 30 October 2025. Gmail, Yahoo and AOL addresses didn't count. The offer simply appeared at upgrade. The Max offer went by email to people who'd cancelled Max within 120 days, with a free month of Max 5x or Max 20x. Its terms said "Users must use their unique promo code," and that code lived inside the emailed link. Both renewed at full price unless cancelled.

Eligibility is narrow by design. The help center says "Coupons and promotions are generally only available to users trying out a paid plan for the first time." If you've paid before, you'll likely see "This promotion is not available for your account." Under the offer terms, the discounted price is charged at the start, and the "then-current standard price" follows until you cancel. For future offers, Anthropic points people to its official social accounts and newsletter.

Does Claude offer a discount when you cancel?

Not as a published policy. Anthropic's cancellation help page, read on 12 October 2026, mentions no stay offer, pause or discount. You keep Pro until the paid period ends.

The one win-back offer we could confirm at source is the Max free month above, emailed between 29 October and 1 November 2025. The deal site AI Promo Now reported a later email giving former Pro and Max subscribers 50% off a first month, with an 8 October 2026 deadline. We found no Anthropic page for it, so treat it as unconfirmed. Anyone weighing a refund instead should read how to get a refund for Claude Pro, and the steps to stop the renewal are in how to cancel Claude Pro.

Is Claude Pro cheaper in another country or another app?

Slightly, in a few App Stores. Pakistan's App Store listed Claude Pro at Rs 4,900 a month on 12 October 2026, about $17.68, the cheapest of 30 storefronts in our Claude Pro price by country study. That price needs a Pakistani Apple account, and App Store plans can't take Anthropic's promotions. The UK store charges £20 a month and £199.99 a year. India's charges ₹1,999 a month and ₹19,900 a year.

Whizi, which publishes this page, sells Claude Sonnet and Claude Opus on its Pro plan at $29.99 a month, beside ChatGPT and Gemini. The first 7 days cost $1.99, and the 2,500 monthly credits buy 250 Sonnet or 125 Opus messages. Whizi's referral reward is a $5 discount on a weekly or monthly plan. If Claude is the only model you want, Claude Pro at $200 a year is the cheaper buy. Whizi makes sense when you'd otherwise pay for ChatGPT as well.

Workflow checklist
  • Switch Claude Pro to yearly billing in Settings > Billing for $200 a year instead of $240
  • Subscribe on claude.com, not in the App Store, if you want Anthropic's promotions to apply
  • Ask a friend on Pro or Max for a 7 day guest pass before paying, if your account has never paid
  • Ask your university, lab or nonprofit whether it already has a Claude plan
  • Ignore any Claude code sold or listed on a coupon site; Anthropic's offers arrive as links or on its own screens
Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is there a Claude Pro discount code on Reddit?

No working public one. Codes shared on Reddit and deal forums are personal links or expired offers, and Anthropic's terms make every offer non-transferable with one redemption per person and per account. A shared link to a live offer may still work, but only on an account that has never paid for Claude. If you are weighing the price, Is Claude Pro worth it covers what you get and what you hit.

Is there a Claude Pro discount for students?

No, not for individuals. Anthropic sells Claude Pro to students at the standard $20 a month or $200 a year as of October 2026. Students get Claude free when their university buys Claude for Education, and graduate students in science labs can get a free seat through their PI. Our Claude student discount page lists the schools.

Can I use a Claude promo code in the iPhone app?

No. Anthropic's help center says App Store subscribers on iOS or Android "are unable to take advantage of promotions at this time." To use an offer, let the store subscription run out, then subscribe on claude.com. The US App Store also charges $214.99 for a year of Pro, against $200 on the web. Claude payment methods explains how web and App Store billing differ.

Is there a Claude Pro discount in the UK or India?

No regional code exists in either country as of October 2026. The UK App Store sells Pro at £20 a month or £199.99 a year, and India's at ₹1,999 a month or ₹19,900 a year. In both stores the yearly plan costs about 17% less than 12 monthly payments, the same saving the web gives. Claude Pro annual plan prices covers the yearly price on the web and what Apple charges.
