How much does Claude Pro cost in each country?
Of the 30 App Store countries we read, Colombia charges the most for Claude Pro and Pakistan the least. A buyer in Colombia pays 77% more than one in Pakistan for the same plan. We opened Claude's iPhone listing in each store on 11 October 2026 and converted every price with one exchange rate table from that day.
Apple sells the plan in local money, so a Colombian buyer pays COP 99,900 and an American pays $20. At 3,184 pesos to the dollar, that's $31.37. Hungary (HUF 8,990, or $27.44) and Denmark (179 kr, or $26.82) also cost more than the UK, where £20 comes to $26.46. Pakistan's Rs 4,900 converts to $17.68, Japan's ¥3,000 to $18.95 and Egypt's EGP 999.99 to $19.09.
Some stores have no local price and bill in US dollars, at one of three levels. Sri Lanka and Argentina pay $20, the US figure. Cambodia and Uzbekistan pay $22. Nepal, Kenya, Ghana and Ukraine pay $25. Bangladesh has no App Store price at all: Apple runs no Bangladesh storefront, so apps.apple.com/bd forwards to the US store, and Apple's lookup API returns no Bangladesh listing for Claude. Bangladesh is on Anthropic's supported list, so you can still pay $20 on claude.com.
Each row is Claude Pro bought inside Claude for iOS, read from Apple's listing on 11 October 2026. The dollar column uses the Currency API rates for the same date.

Every row except the US and Canada already includes tax. Apple says so in its pricing talk for developers: "Prices advertised to customers in all countries except the U.S. and Canada include taxes." So the UK's £20 carries 20% VAT, while Canada's CA$28 still gets sales tax added at checkout. We didn't read Google Play. It sets its own prices for the Android app.
Nigeria and Turkey are no longer cheap places to buy Claude Pro
Nigeria's Claude Pro price is now above the US list price. The App Store listed ₦29,900 a month on 11 October 2026, which is $22.45. The price tracker Subscriptionland logged ₦14,900 for the same plan on 18 June 2026. That's a doubling in under four months. Another tracker, Appark, still puts Nigeria at about $9.61 a month.
Turkey went the same way. A user review on Appark calls the Turkish price "roughly half the cost" of the US one. On 11 October 2026 it was ₺999.99, or $20.31. So check the date on any page that calls Claude Pro cheap somewhere. Pakistan is the cheapest store we found, and it's only 12% under the US price.
Is Claude Pro cheaper on the website or in the app?
The website is cheaper in the US, the app is cheaper in Japan, and the UK depends on what your checkout shows. On claude.com, Claude Pro is $20 a month or $200 a year, as of October 2026. The same page says, "Prices shown don't include applicable tax." Anthropic's help center adds that the plan "is available for $20 per month (US), with pricing in your local currency where supported." Some regions see tax inside that price. Others get it added at checkout.
In the US, both channels charge $20 a month. The annual plan differs. Apple charges $214.99 a year, so the app costs $14.99 more than claude.com's $200.
In Japan, Anthropic has added 10% consumption tax to every plan price since 1 April 2026, per its JCT notice. On a $20 web plan that's $22 a month. The App Store's ¥3,000 already includes tax and converts to $18.95. That makes the app about $3 cheaper.
In the UK, the App Store's £20 includes VAT and comes to $26.46. If claude.com bills you $20 plus the UK's 20% VAT, you pay $24, about $2.46 less than the app. Anthropic's invoice help says each region has a currency, or currencies, offered to new subscribers. So read the total on the checkout page before you pay.
India has its own rupee price on the website. Business Today reported on 14 July 2026 that Claude Pro "starts at Rs 2,000 per month in India", with GST included. The App Store asks ₹1,999 a month.
Switching channels later takes work. Apple bills a plan you bought in the app, so you cancel it in your Apple account before buying on the web, and how to cancel Claude Pro covers both routes. A web subscriber who wants a new currency has to let the plan run out and buy again, per Anthropic. The website also takes cards only. Claude payment methods lists the wallets you can use through the app instead.
Does the annual Claude Pro plan save money in every country?
No. In Mexico, Pakistan, Norway and Sweden the App Store's annual plan costs more than a year of monthly payments. Mexico asks MX$4,999 a year, while 12 months at MX$399 is MX$4,788. That's MX$211 extra for paying up front. Pakistan asks Rs 59,900 against Rs 58,800. Sweden asks 2,995 kr against 2,988 kr, and Norway asks 2,990 kr for the same year. Turkey's ₺11,999.99 a year is 11 kuruş more than 12 payments of ₺999.99.
The best annual deal in the App Store is 17% off, in Colombia, the UK, Brazil, India, Egypt and Nepal. The four euro stores give 5%: €249.99 a year against €264 for 12 months. Japan, Vietnam and Australia give 3%, and Nigeria 2%. On claude.com the annual plan is $200 against $240 for 12 months, which is also 17% off. If your store gives 5% or less, monthly billing costs little more, and you can stop any month.
Which countries can't buy Claude Pro?
China, Russia and Hong Kong can't buy Claude Pro. None of the three is on Anthropic's supported regions list, and Claude's App Store page returned a not-found error in all three storefronts on 11 October 2026. Every other country in the table is on the list, and so is Bangladesh.
Anthropic's sign-up article sets the rule: "Paid plans are only available for users physically located in one of our supported locations." A cheaper store doesn't get around it. Apple says you "might need to enter a valid payment method for your new country or region" when you move your Apple account, and Claude still checks where you are. The full list, and what works outside it, is in Claude not available in your country.
- Find your country in the table and note the date: Apple prices can change without notice
- Compare the App Store price with claude.com plus your local tax before you subscribe
- In Mexico, Pakistan, Norway, Sweden and Turkey, pay monthly: the App Store's annual plan saves nothing there
- In Japan, remember the App Store price includes tax and claude.com adds 10% on top
- Pick the channel you'll keep, since moving from Apple billing to the web means cancelling first
- If you're in China, Russia or Hong Kong, don't pay at all: Claude Pro isn't sold there
Frequently asked questions
How much is Claude Pro in India?
Claude Pro costs ₹1,999 a month in India's App Store, about $20.67, or ₹19,900 for a year, as of 11 October 2026. Both include tax. The website has its own rupee price: Business Today reported in July 2026 that it starts at Rs 2,000 a month with GST included.
How much is Claude Pro in the UK?
Claude Pro costs £20 a month or £199.99 a year in the UK App Store, VAT included, as of 11 October 2026. At that day's rate the monthly price is $26.46, fourth highest of the 30 stores we read, behind Colombia, Hungary and Denmark. On claude.com the base price is $20 before tax.
How much is Claude Pro in Bangladesh?
Claude Pro has no Bangladesh App Store price, because Apple runs no Bangladesh storefront. Bangladesh is on Anthropic's supported list, so you can subscribe on claude.com for $20 a month before tax, as of October 2026. Nearby, Nepal's App Store bills $25 and Sri Lanka's bills $20.
Can I buy Claude Pro from a cheaper country's App Store?
Not as a shortcut. Apple ties your store to your Apple account's country, and says a move may require a valid payment method for the new country. Anthropic sells paid plans only to people physically located in a supported country. The cheapest store we found, Pakistan, is only 12% under the US price anyway.
Is there a cheaper way to use Claude than Claude Pro?
Yes, if you don't need its limits. Claude's free plan works in every supported country. Whizi Starter costs $15.99 a month and includes Claude Haiku, but not Claude Sonnet or Opus. Whizi Pro adds Claude Opus and Sonnet beside ChatGPT Sol for $29.99, which is more than Claude Pro costs in every store we read except Colombia.
