Which ChatHub alternative should you switch to?
TypingMind is the one ChatHub alternative you pay for once: $39 to $99, with no subscription. Poe is the one built around creator bots rather than columns. This covers ChatHub the AI client at chathub.gg, not the random video chat site with the same name. Keep ChatHub if six frontier answers side by side is why you pay. The table gives the pick for every other case, and all of its prices were read on each vendor's own page on 3 October 2026, in US dollars, unless the row says otherwise.
| Alternative | Models on one prompt | Price on its own page, 3 October 2026 | Your own API keys | Pick it when |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| ChatHub (stay) | up to 6 | Pro $19 a month or $14.99 billed yearly; Unlimited $39 or $24.99 billed yearly | optional, in the free extension | you compare frontier models every day |
| big-AGI | 2 to 24 with Beam | Free $0; Pro $9 a month, billed $108 a year | required on every plan | you hold keys and want more than six columns |
| TypingMind | parallel multi model chats on Premium | Standard $39, Extended $79, Premium $99, each paid once | required | you want to own the client and pay providers at cost |
| MultipleChat | Compare Mode, side by side | Free; Pro $20 a month or $179.99 a year; Smart $90 a month | no | you want debate and ensemble modes on top of compare |
| ChatPlayground AI | up to 4 | no price printed on its homepage | no | you want fewer columns in a Chrome extension |
| Poe | one bot per message | points plans; Poe's pricing page refuses automated reads | no | you want creator bots and the widest catalogue |
| Merlin | not stated on its pricing page | Pro $29 a month, or Pro $228 a year | no | you want a browser sidebar more than a compare grid |
| OpenRouter chat | several models in one chat room | Free tier: 25+ free models, 50 requests a day; paid credits at provider rates | no | you want to pay per token |
| LibreChat | multi model chats | free, open source; you run the server | required, or local models | your data must stay on your own hardware |
| Open WebUI | multi model chats | free, open source; you run the server | required, or local models | you run local models already |
| Whizi | 2 per compare, Pro and Powerhouse plans | Starter $15.99, Pro $29.99, Powerhouse $49.99 a month; $10.99, $19.99, $34.99 billed yearly | no | you want 280+ models, projects and your ChatGPT or Claude history on one login |
Ten made the list because each one sends your prompts to models from several labs. The directories that rank for this query pad their lists to 20 with customer service chat widgets. Those answer a different question. Prices and plan names come from ChatHub's pricing page, big-AGI's pricing, TypingMind's licence page, MultipleChat's pricing and OpenRouter's pricing. Ask multiple AI at once compares the column counts on their own.
How many frontier answers does each plan buy?
ChatHub Pro buys 6 times as many Claude Sonnet 5 answers per month as Whizi Pro: 1,500 Advanced queries for $19 against 250 for $29.99. The reason is how ChatHub meters. Its models page sorts 33 models into two classes as of 3 October 2026: 23 Advanced and 10 Basic. Its pricing page counts any Advanced answer as one query, whether it came from Claude Haiku 4.5 or GPT-6 Astra.
Divide the fee by the allowance. The gap is plain. ChatHub Pro is 1.3 cents per Advanced answer at full use, or 1.0 cent billed yearly. Whizi's cost index prices one standard answer (1,000 tokens in, 500 out) at OpenRouter list rates fetched on 20 August 2026. Claude Sonnet 5 is 0.7 cents there, and Claude Fable 5 is 3.5 cents. So a ChatHub subscriber who spends Pro on Fable or GPT-6 Astra pays less per answer than the model's list price. If you hold your own key, you pay 0.7 cents for Sonnet 5 with no allowance at all. On Whizi the same Sonnet 5 answer is 10 credits, which is 12 cents at full use of Pro (2,500 credits for $29.99) and 5 cents on Powerhouse (10,000 for $49.99). GPT-6 Astra is Powerhouse only, at 100 credits. Whizi credits go further on cheaper rows: GPT-5.6 Terra is 4 credits, so Pro covers 625 of those.
The ChatHub page doesn't say whether one prompt sent to six models spends one Advanced query or six. It also doesn't say whether a very long answer counts as more than one. Check both in its usage view before you rely on the math. Unlimited, at $39 a month or $24.99 billed yearly, lists both basic and advanced queries as unlimited.
What does ChatHub still do better than its alternatives?
ChatHub still does three things better than most of the list: six columns on both paid plans, a free extension that runs your own accounts or keys, and frontier models priced as one flat query (the section above). The six columns come with Summarize Chat, which merges the answers into one with a click. big-AGI goes to 24 columns, but only on your own keys.
The extension is the second thing. ChatHub's lifetime licence page now says one line: "The ChatHub browser extension is now free to use." The extension offers three ways to answer: ChatHub's own AI service, your own chatbot account, or your own API key. It also takes custom chatbots from any API that speaks the OpenAI format, including Ollama running on your own machine, and opens in Chrome's side panel. Both of these features exist only in the extension, not in the web app.
Media on the same bill comes on top of those three. The image and video generators share a credit balance: 3,000 credits a month on Pro and 10,000 on Unlimited. A Nano Banana Pro image costs 48 credits and a GPT Image 2 image costs 13. You can buy 2,500 more credits for $5, valid for three months. Videos run 4 to 15 seconds, from Seedance 2.5 and MiniMax H3. Notebook comes on top too. It's a beta research space that cites the passage in your PDF, EPUB or MP3 behind each conclusion.
What ChatHub doesn't have is breadth. The pricing page headline says "30+ AI models". The models page listed 33 from 17 labs on 3 October 2026, mostly one or two current versions per lab.
Where does Whizi beat ChatHub, and where does it lose?
Whizi, which publishes this page, beats ChatHub on catalogue and workspace and loses on columns and on price per frontier answer. ChatHub is read from its own pages and Whizi from its plan docs, as of October 2026.
| ChatHub | Whizi | |
|---|---|---|
| Models | 33 on its models page | 280+ |
| Models on one prompt | up to 6, Pro and Unlimited | 2, Pro and Powerhouse (compare view) |
| Frontier answers on the cheapest plan that has them | 1,500 Advanced queries on Pro, $19 | 250 Claude Sonnet 5 answers on Pro, $29.99 |
| Your own API keys | yes, in the free extension | no |
| Prompt library | yes | no insertable prompts; Skills save standing instructions (up to 30, 5 active in one chat) |
| Long projects | Notebook, in beta | Projects: up to 10 pinned files and 32,000 characters of instructions each |
| Bring your ChatGPT or Claude history | not on its pricing page | import from ChatGPT or Claude |
| Voice | not on its pricing page | 10, 80 or 500 minutes a month by plan |
Where Whizi loses: it has two columns against six, no API keys, no insertable prompt library, and fewer frontier answers per dollar. If six flagship answers side by side every day is your workflow, stay on ChatHub and move to Unlimited when the 1,500 cap bites. If you hold keys, take big-AGI. Whizi is the pick when the model you want isn't among ChatHub's 33. Whizi's catalogue draws on 51 provider prefixes, including AllenAI, Sakana and Upstage, and ChatHub's models page lists none of them. It's also the pick when a project should carry files and instructions across every chat. Pro, where Claude Sonnet 5, GPT-5.6 Sol and Kimi K3 start, opens with a $1.99 first week.
Is ChatHub free, and which alternatives are?
ChatHub is free in two ways. The browser extension costs nothing when you bring your own API key or account, and the web app gives a free usage quota on registration. If you want frontier models through ChatHub's own service, you need Pro or Unlimited.
Among the alternatives, four are free at the software level and bill the models elsewhere. The big-AGI Free plan is $0 with your keys. LibreChat and Open WebUI are open source you host yourself, and TypingMind runs its basic features free with your own key. Two give a metered free taste instead. OpenRouter's free tier reaches 25+ zero cost models at 50 requests a day, and MultipleChat has a free plan with daily usage limits. None of the free routes gets you a frontier model without either a key or a card.
ChatHub vs Poe: which should you use?
ChatHub is the better tool for comparing models, and Poe is the better one for bots. ChatHub sends one prompt to up to six models at once. Poe answers one bot per message and charges compute points. It has creator bots and characters, which ChatHub doesn't try to offer.
Poe's pricing page refused automated reads on 3 October 2026, so its numbers here come from UsagePricing's tracker, which shows that on 28 July 2026 Poe cut its $19.99 Premium plan from 1,000,000 compute points a month to 660,000 at the same price. A points wallet makes the cost of each model visible and each message a small decision. ChatHub's Advanced class makes the expensive models cheap and the count the limit. Poe alternatives covers the switch from the other side.
- Open ChatHub's usage view and count your Advanced queries for one month before you compare plans
- Check whether a six model prompt spent one query or six; ChatHub's pricing page does not say
- List the models you actually used; if all are among ChatHub's 33, breadth is not your reason to switch
- If you hold API keys, try big-AGI's free plan before paying for any hosted plan
- Export the ChatHub chats you want to keep first; Whizi imports ChatGPT and Claude exports, not ChatHub's
Frequently asked questions
How much is ChatHub per month?
ChatHub Pro is $19 a month and Unlimited is $39, or $14.99 and $24.99 a month billed yearly, as of 3 October 2026. Pro includes 1,500 Advanced and 10,000 Basic queries a month plus 3,000 image and video credits. Unlimited lists unlimited queries and 10,000 credits.
Is there a ChatHub alternative for random video chat?
That's a different ChatHub. This page covers the AI client at chathub.gg, which compares chatbots such as GPT, Claude and Gemini. The random video chat site that shares the name is a separate product. Its alternatives are video chat sites rather than AI tools.
ChatHub vs ChatPlayground: which compares more models?
ChatHub compares more. It takes up to six models on one prompt, against up to four on ChatPlayground AI's homepage as of 3 October 2026. Both list 30+ models, and both run as a web app and a Chrome extension.
What happened to the ChatHub lifetime licence?
It no longer needs activating, because ChatHub made the browser extension free. Its docs now answer the activation question with "The ChatHub browser extension is now free to use." Hosted access to ChatHub's own models is sold only as the Pro and Unlimited subscriptions.
