Which AI video generator is best in October 2026?
Wan 3.0 is the best AI video generator you can buy, by blind human vote. Artificial Analysis's text to video leaderboard put it first of the 29 models it ranked on 11 October 2026, with an Elo of 1156 from 8,300 samples. Its panel watches two clips that were made from the same prompt, with sound, and picks the one it likes without knowing which model made which. Price doesn't predict the result.
Each dot is one model at the price Artificial Analysis lists for a minute of 1080p video on the maker's own API. MiniMax H3 costs $4.80 and places 4th. That's the bargain. Veo 3.1 costs five times that and places 19th, below Kling 3.0 Pro at $10.08. Of the models near the top, Seedance 2.5 is the dearest, at $34.12. Utopai X sits second at 1149, but the board lists no API for it, so you can't buy it yet. Runway Gen-4.5 and Luma Ray3.2 aren't on the board at all.
Here's the pick by job, from the board and the vendor pages on the same date:
- Best overall: Wan 3.0. It makes up to 30 seconds with sound on Runway, and Pika sells 5 second clips of it from $10 a month.
- Best value: MiniMax H3. It's 4th in the arena, it makes 15 seconds with stereo sound, and you can run its open weights yourself.
- Best free: Veo 3.1 in Google Flow. Any Google account gets 50 credits a day, and that's enough for five Lite clips.
- Cheapest paid entry: Google AI Plus at $4.99 a month. Its 200 Flow credits buy 20 Veo 3.1 Lite clips.
- Longest take on a cheap plan: Kling 3.0. It runs up to 15 seconds, and its Standard plan costs $6.99 for the first month.
How do the top AI video generators compare on length, sound and price?
The top AI video generators differ most on clip length. Google's Veo 3.1 stops at 8 seconds in Flow, Kling 3.0 and MiniMax H3 reach 15, and Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 reach 30 on Runway. We read each of the figures below on the maker's or the seller's own page on 11 October 2026. They're in US dollars, and they're monthly prices unless the cell says otherwise.

The three top ranked models you can buy all make sound in the same pass as the picture, and all run 15 seconds or longer. None of the roundups on page one puts those two facts next to the rank. Veo 3.1 keeps one lead over those three. Google's API price list sells it at 4K, while Runway's model list takes Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 to 1080p and MiniMax's top step is 2K. But if you want a 30 second scene from Veo, you have to extend an 8 second clip several times in Flow.
Check two gaps before you pay. Luma's Ray3.2 page says its text to video has no native audio, so you have to add the sound yourself. And Kling has announced Kling 4.0 for October 2026, with native clips of up to 30 seconds. Its blog post of 30 September said only an early access group had the Flash version so far.
Avatar tools such as Synthesia and HeyGen answer a different request, so they aren't in the table. Synthesia sells AI presenters who read your script in over 140 languages, and HeyGen builds a talking version of you from a script. Neither is on the arena board, which judges scenes made from a prompt. Pick one of them for a training video or a sales message with a face, and pick from the table for a scene.
What is the best free AI video generator?
Google Flow is the best free AI video generator, because it's the only one here whose free allowance refills every day. Google's Flow help page gives every account 50 credits a day. A Lite clip costs 10. That's five clips of up to 8 seconds. If you don't pay, you may not get video at all from roughly 2 PM to 5 PM UTC, and the credits you don't use that day don't roll over.
The rest give you a taste, once. Runway's free plan is a one time grant of 125 credits, which is enough for two Gen-4.5 clips of 5 seconds. LTX Studio gives 800 one time credits for personal projects only. Kling's Basic plan is free, but Kling's credit guide says its output isn't for commercial use. Pika's free plan has 0 credits, and Luma lists no free plan. If you'll use more than five clips a day, Google AI Pro at $19.99 adds 1,000 Flow credits a month, and the Google AI Pro vs ChatGPT Plus comparison covers the rest of that plan.
Open weights are the one free route that has no credit meter at all. MiniMax released H3 on 3 August 2026 under its own community license. The open version makes 768p clips of 4 to 15 seconds with 32 kHz stereo sound, and MiniMax hasn't opened the 2K step yet. Lightricks publishes LTX-2.5 on GitHub with synchronized audio and a 4K mode. The download alone is roughly 66 GiB. You need a serious GPU.
Which AI video generators allow commercial use without a watermark?
Pika, Kling and LTX Studio all drop the watermark on paid plans. On two of them, though, you only get commercial rights one tier above the plan that removes the watermark. Pika's $10 Starter has no watermark and no commercial license, and LTX Studio's $15 Lite is the same.
| Where you buy | Free plan | Watermark | Commercial use starts at |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pika | 0 credits, packs only | None on any plan | Creator, $35 a month (not Free or Starter) |
| Kling | Basic, no monthly credits listed | Removal from Standard | Standard, $6.99 first month |
| LTX Studio | 800 one time credits, personal projects only | None from Lite | Standard, $35 a month |
| Runway | 125 one time credits | None listed on Standard | Not stated on the pricing page |
| Luma | None listed | Not stated | Plus, $30 a month |
| Gemini app | Needs a Google AI plan | Visible overlay plus invisible SynthID | Not stated on the pages read |
| Google Flow | 50 credits a day | Not stated on the credits page | Not stated on the pages read |
Plan around Google's mark. Its Gemini help page says "Visible watermarks appear as a persistent overlay on generated video content." You can switch that overlay off in Gemini's settings, though in India, South Korea and Vietnam the switch shows only on AI Ultra. The invisible SynthID mark stays either way. This table records what each pricing page says on 11 October 2026. It isn't a legal reading, so check the terms before you run paid ads.
Whizi's video model is fast and sits inside a chat app, but it loses on length and rank
Whizi, which publishes this page, runs one video model: Whizi Video AI, which is Lightricks's LTX-2 19B Distilled served through fal. Each clip is 121 frames at 25 frames a second, about 4.8 seconds of 720p 16:9 video with a sound track, and you can't pick a longer one. LTX-2 isn't on the arena board, and its newer siblings LTX-2.5 Fast and LTX-2.3 Fast sit 23rd and 28th of 29, so Wan 3.0, MiniMax H3 and Kling 3.0 beat it on rank and on length. Where it fits is speed and place. Whizi timed it at 13.5 to 22.9 seconds a clip across four runs on 25 August 2026, and it runs in the same chat as 280+ text models. Video is a Powerhouse feature at $49.99 a month ($34.99 billed yearly), so it only makes sense if you'd pay for the chat side anyway. If video is the whole job, Google AI Plus at $4.99 is the cheaper buy. The pricing page lists what else Powerhouse carries.
- Spend Google Flow's 50 free daily credits on Veo 3.1 Lite before paying for anything
- Pick Wan 3.0 or MiniMax H3 when you need sound and clips of 15 seconds or more
- Compare the commercial license tier, not just the no watermark tier, before you subscribe
- Check whether a price is introductory, as Kling's $6.99 first month is
- Budget for retakes, since every regeneration spends the full clip price again
Frequently asked questions
Is Sora still available?
No. OpenAI's help center says the Sora web and app were discontinued on April 26, 2026, and the Sora API on September 24, 2026. Veo 3.1 in Google Flow is the free daily option in this comparison. For still images, the AI image generator guide compares what's left.
Is there a free AI video generator with no limits?
No. Every free plan in this comparison has a cap as of October 2026. Google Flow's 50 daily credits are the biggest allowance that refills, about five Veo 3.1 Lite clips a day. The only route without a credit cap is running open weights such as MiniMax H3 or LTX-2.5 on your own GPU, where your hardware sets the limit.
Which AI video generator makes the longest clips?
Wan 3.0 and Seedance 2.5 make the longest single clips here, up to 30 seconds each on Runway as of October 2026. Kling 3.0 and MiniMax H3 reach 15 seconds, and Kling 4.0, announced for October 2026, reaches 30. Veo 3.1 makes 8 second clips that Flow can extend.
