Kling AI alternatives: 8 picks priced per second, and Wan 3.0 ranks first

In brief

The best Kling AI alternative is Wan 3.0 on Pika: it ranks first in Artificial Analysis's text to video arena at 1175 Elo, against 1000 for Kling 3.0 Pro, and costs 7.3 cents a second on Pika's $10 Starter plan. Gemini Omni Flash in Google Flow ranks 10th at about 3 cents. Kling 4.0 isn't ranked yet.

Which Kling AI alternative gives the best video for the money?

Wan 3.0 on Pika gives the best video for the money. It ranks first on Artificial Analysis's text to video board at 1175 Elo, and a 5 second 720p clip costs 33 of Starter's 900 credits. That's 7.3 cents a second. Kling 3.0 Pro sits 19th of 31 at exactly 1000, because the board uses it as the anchor every other model is scored against.

Each dot is one model inside one app, on the cheapest paid plan that sells it. We took the plan's price, divided it by the plan's credits, and multiplied by what a clip costs. Then we divided that by the clip's length. The Elo is from people who voted between two clips with sound. Two of the dots need a note. The arena scores Kling 3.0 Pro at 1080p, but the Luma price is for 720p with audio. And Google Flow doesn't say which version it runs, while the board lists Gemini Omni Flash 1.1. Sora, Runway and Luma's own Ray models aren't on the board at all, so they get no dot.

So which one should you buy? If you want the most quality for each dollar, it's Wan 3.0 on Pika Starter at $10 a month. If you want the cheapest clip that still looks good, it's Gemini Omni Flash in Google Flow, where 8 seconds at 720p costs 12 credits. MiniMax H3 on Luma is the next best for quality, and it's third on the board. If you like Kling and just want it cheaper, buy Kling 4.0 on Luma Plus. And if you don't want to pay at all, Google Flow gives you 50 credits on any account, every day.

How much does each Kling alternative cost per second?

A Kling alternative costs from 3 to 57 cents a second on its cheapest paid plan, as of 31 October 2026. We read each price on the vendor's own pricing or help page that day, in US dollars, billed monthly unless the cell says otherwise.

The table hides one finding: where you buy Kling 4.0 changes its price by more than three times. Luma's pricing page sells it at 53 credits a second at 720p, which is 15.9 cents on Plus. Runway's pricing page sells it at 118 credits per 5 seconds at 1080p, which is 56.6 cents on Standard. Runway's promotion cuts that to 89 credits until 30 November. The resolutions differ, so part of the gap is pixels, but the cheapest Kling 4.0 we found sits on Luma.

Credits don't roll over on most of these plans. Google's Flow help page says unused monthly credits don't roll over, and unused daily credits are lost too. Buy the plan for the month you'll use.

Is there a free Kling AI alternative?

Yes. Google Flow is the free Kling AI alternative, because its help page says "With or without a subscription, you receive 50 Google Flow credits per day." That's four Gemini Omni Flash clips of 8 seconds at 720p, or five Veo 3.1 Lite clips. The catch is timing: "During peak hours, roughly 2 PM to 5 PM UTC, you may not be able to generate videos without a subscription."

The rest give you a taste, once. Runway's free plan is 125 credits that you get one time, which is about two Gen-4.5 clips. Pika's free plan has no credits at all, and Luma doesn't list a free plan. Kling's own Basic plan is free, but its credit guide lists no monthly credits for it and says Basic output is "not for commercial use." Whizi gives any account below Powerhouse one free 5 second video.

When does one plan beat a video subscription?

One plan beats a video subscription only when video is a side job. Whizi, which publishes this page, runs one video model, Whizi Video AI. It's Lightricks' LTX-2 19B Distilled, making about 4.8 seconds of 720p video with sound, and Whizi timed it at 13.5 to 22.9 seconds a clip across four runs on 25 August 2026. It loses this comparison on quality and length. LTX-2 isn't on the board, and its newer siblings LTX-2.5 Fast and LTX-2.3 Fast sit 25th and 30th of 31. Kling 4.0 makes up to 30 seconds in one pass.

Here's the case for it anyway. Powerhouse is $49.99 a month, and a clip spends 20 of its 10,000 monthly credits. The same plan carries every chat model in the catalog, 500 pictures a month and two music models. Kling Pro at $32.56 plus ChatGPT Plus at $20 comes to $52.56 a month, and that pair makes no music. If video is the main job, buy Pika Starter for Wan 3.0, or use Flow for free.

When does staying on Kling win?

Staying wins if you need long takes or a low entry price. In its 4.0 versus 3.0 post of 30 September 2026, Kling says that "Kling 4.0 extends native generation to 30 seconds in a single pass", and it lists 720p, 1080p and 4K. That's six times as long as the 5 second Wan 3.0 clips that Pika prices.

The entry price is low, but there's a catch. In its credit guide of 28 July 2026, Kling lists the plans below, and it marks each price as a "first-subscription discount only":

Kling planFirst subscriptionRenewalCredits a month720p videos Kling counts
Basic$0$0None listedNone listed
Standard$6.99$8.8066033
Pro$25.99$32.563,000150
Premier$64.99$80.968,000400
Ultra$127.99$159.9926,0001,300

Every paid Kling plan lists commercial use and brand watermark removal. Pika's $10 Starter, the cheapest Wan 3.0, lists a commercial license too, and only its free plan goes without one. So rights don't decide this. Price does: Kling Standard renews at $8.80 against Pika's $10, and Kling counts 33 videos a month on it. Our read: stay on Kling for 15 to 30 second takes, and leave when you want the most quality for each dollar.

Workflow checklist
  • Compare cents per second, not price per clip, because clip lengths differ by app
  • Spend Google Flow's 50 free daily credits before paying for anything
  • Price Kling 4.0 on Luma before Runway, where it costs over three times as much per second
  • Check commercial rights: free plans on Pika and Kling carry none, while Pika Starter and Kling Standard do
  • Budget for Kling's renewal price, not the first month discount
  • Budget for retakes, since every regeneration spends the full clip price again
